Bonded broadband uses multiple telephone lines, each of which is enabled with our Business Broadband Standard, Premium or Extreme. Your multiple broadband connections are then configured at our Internet datacentre to work as a single "Bonded" service with the same IP addresses on each connection

To use Bonded Broadband, your router must be upgraded to an advanced CISCO device with multiple ADSL interface cards (WICS). To ensure a hassle free migration to our Bonded service, your CISCO router must be updated, tested and pre-configured by our engineers (at our premises) prior to use. We normally charge a fixed price of £250 for this service, however this service is Free of charge if you purchase/rent/lease your CISCO router from our provider

CISCO routers provide secure remote access which enables us to test, check and update your configuration as necessary. This Remote management facility enables the Routers to be physically installed by your own IT staff, thus saving the cost of an installation engineer

Bonded Broadband v. Balanced Broadband

Bonded Broadband should not be confused with Balanced Broadband, which also uses multiple ADSL lines.

Balanced Broadband is limited because each ADSL line has is own IP address and therefore any single internet session cannot take advantage of multiple connections, making the maximum speed for any one user the same as a single ADSL connection.

Furthermore, some dual WAN routers attempt to route sessions over multiple connections at the same time, which can result in serious problems if packets arrive on the Internet out of sequence or with different IP addresses.

For this reason we can only recommend the use of Bonded Broadband.
